A marathon effort for Saint Francis Hospice
April 6, 2016 12:29 pmPounding the streets of London for 26.2 miles is a gruelling test of endurance and stamina by anyone’s standard.
But the thrill of a personal challenge and the chance to raise funds for Saint Francis Hospice has inspired Ian Cassidy and Kate Hearn to sign up to the Virgin Money London Marathon on April 24th 2016.
For Ian, turning 40 spurred him into action and as a Contracts Manager with Aston Group, which has raised £20,000 for the hospice over the years, there was never any question about what charity he would choose.
“Aston Group has had a long association with the charity and I am well aware of the good work the hospice does and how little funding it receives from the Government,” said Ian, who lives in Brentwood with his wife and two children. “For me the marathon is a personal goal.
