Rewarding our apprentices

Edwin Evers correctedWe nominated one of our apprentices, Edwin Evers (pictured in the white shirt), for the Training Trust Apprentice of the Year. We’re extremely proud to say that he was shortlisted for the final and he attended the awards ceremony last month, receiving recognition for his efforts. He’s is a great example of how Astons wants to work with apprenticeships in our industry.

Health and Safety Manager, Bill Shaw said “he is always a pleasure to work with, he is respected by his work colleagues and when college tutors visited our sites we always received commendable comments about his workmanship and behaviour, as a company we are proud that we are able to nominate Edwin”.

His work mentor, John Williams, who is currently working on a project with Edwin at UCL said “I have known Edwin from a lad to a young man and since that time everyday come rain or shine he has had a smile on his face. He has a mature attitude towards work, realising that some tasks have timescales that have to be adhered to. His work is to a good standard and mistakes are rare, personally I believe he deserves this recognition, if just for the fact of putting-up with me for the last few years”.
